Preface...I hope I can keep up with this at least as good as what I have written down in the past.  Seems that keeping an online log will be better for me given the facts that I am on the computer often and I like typing more than writing....Lazy!!!

January 02, 2007

Shaolin-Do...
Received partner kb's (16kg and 24kg) from Dave for the ones I already own!  This will help out alot since before all I could do was kb singles.

Did brown belt empty hand, black belt empty hand and spears, Pa-Kua, Table Top Sword twice and practiced Hsing-I stance.  Finished off with practices of first three Hsing-I punches:  Crushing fist, Drilling fist and Cannon fist.

Not breathing as well tonight.  Lower back muscle near left hip slightly spasmed during Pa-Kua...This has happened before.  I think it is probably the inactivity over the holidays that is causing it.  I got to blame something!  Shoulder still has a raunchy feeling in it I can't seem to get over.  It does not hurt much anymore, but does feel strained a lot easier when I work out.  Still...Only about 8 months and I am doing snatches in a alternating single kb ladder (5,4,3,2,1) with a 32kg..not bad for such a short time span.  We'll see what happens.

Good to see you posting your logs.

For the back stretch & do joint mobility every day. For the shoulder add in some light strict Military presses and Turkish getups. Work the good arm too.

January 3, 2007...

Light day..Now that I have the capability of doing kb exercises with two kbs, I worked on a modified version of the Turkish Get Up.  Did about 10 or 12, was not really counting, but with just two 16kgs, They wore me down fast!...Save my energy for class.

Went to Shaolin-Do, did the usual Wed. night thing.  Nothing special and no additives.  Did white through green belt material and three rounds of light sparring.  Left at 8:30.  Breathing felt good, stamina was up...could have been a particularly nice day to do more if I applied myself.

January 4, 2007

Did the Thursday morning ritual...Shortly after that, I focused on the upper body:

Modified Turkish Get Ups X10 using (16kg kbs X2) Alt. Sides
Quick Ladder Floor Presses (5,4,3,2,1) using (24kg kbs X2)
Clean and Press X10 using (16kg kbs X2)
Pulls X10 each side using (24kg kbs X2) Alt. Sides

Short and sweet...about 10 minutes to do..was a little out of breath and sweat poured..other than that, no strains.  Did feel biceps, triceps, forearms, lats and quads.  Will consider repeating with reps later adding swings in between.

Tai Chi Later....
10 Snatches 5 each side continuous with 32kg kb.
Table Top Sword twice
Tai Chi Sword once
24 Posture Tai Chi three or four times during class
64 Posture Yang Style Tai Chi once during class
Pa Kua once

5 Lazy days off of work...Kind of looking forward to going back tomorrow...NOT!!!   Evil

January 8, 2007...

Finished my wonderful 10 hours at work...Rushed home, changed into my gi and ran off to Shaolin-Do.

Did the usual Monday night thing..white belt through green belt material, sparred three rounds and watched/helped in brown belt class.

Went home and crashed.

January 9, 2007...

No Kb stuff today.

Went to Shaolin-Do...
Did brown belt weapons, Black Tigers, Spears, Table Top Sword twice and Pa-Kua.  Hsing-I Training was as follows:
Breathing and Stance training (18 breaths both sides) twice
Crushing Fist (18 times both sides) twice
Drilling Fist (18 times both sides) twice
Cannon Fist (18 times both sides) twice
Then we learned Crossing Fist, or should I say learned of it.  We practiced Crossing Fist until end of class....

Needless to say, my arms feel like noodles...no Kb's tonight either.

Felt problem in left lower back/hip area again.  Will pay attention to Pa-Kua stances as Dave mentioned, next class.

January 10, 2007...

Did the upper body thing again...

Modified Turkish Get Ups X10 using (16kg kbs X2) Alt. Sides
Quick Ladder Floor Presses (5,4,3,2,1) using (24kg kbs X2)
Clean and Press X10 using (16kg kbs X2)
Pulls X10 each side using (24kg kbs X2) Alt. Sides

The arms really feel it now...must have been because of last night's Shaolin-Do class.  More later...

In Shaolin-Do....
Did Pa-Kua, then white through green belt material, three rounds of sparring and helped out in brown belt class.

Breathing was good.  Arms are still sore, especially the forearm area.

January 11, 2007...

Did all my Thursday morning rituals and a trip out to Bardstown, which pretty much lead me right into Tai Chi class time.  Right forearm feels rough.  Did Tai Chi Sword before class, then during class, we did 24 Posture Combined Form two or three times.  Sr. Master Price started teaching Tai Chi Sword afterward.  Nothing else to say...Tomorrow, I am taking the day off from everything.  No work, No Kb's, No Shaolin Do, No..No..No..Not a Darn thing!!!

SEEEEEE YA!!!!
