Balintawak and Counter Blade Tactics

Balintawak Eskrima is a Filipino martial art and is primarly a stick based fighting system. It was originally designed as a short to medium blade fighting system (think machete). We use sticks for safety purposes but everything applies to machetes or similar bladed weapons.

While there are many FMA systems we have found that this particular art is very effective and very easy to learn and that many of the principles and concepts transfer to empty hand and knife defense

Counter Blade Tactics is a system based on 10 years of experience with knife fighting systems. The system was designed by Guro Jerome Teague.

Straight Forward

Quickly learn and apply the basics of stick-figthing

Empty hand, blade or stick - Once you understand the stick the principles and concepts carry over to empty hand and blade defensive tactics

No wasted practice, no frills, no filler,no busy work.

Kuntao Silat Morin

Kunta Silat Morin, or KSM is Guro George Morin's flavor and blend of Kuntao and Silat. Guro George trained under Willem de Thouars for 30 years and trained two years with Pak Vic. In addition he attended gatherings/seminars with Pendekar Paul de Thouars, and their brother Maurice.

Kuntao is based in Chinese Kung Fu whereas Silat is a truly Filipino art. Kuntao is considered at "hard style" system that the peasants used. Silat is "softer" and more fluid and used by the elites. Both close quarters arts and very deadly. Every had /arm/elbow movement has an application and every step is a leg attack.
