Thanksgiving Day – What should I eat?

Written By Dave  |  Blog  |  0 Comments

It’s that time of year, the food fest has begun. Are you wondering what you can eat or what to avoid for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals.

Eat whatever you want!

Yes, eat! Have a piece of pie or two, have the mashed potatoes and gravy, the broccoli and chess sauce. Eat whatever you want. Enjoy the food, savor it, enjoy the time with your family and don’t get hung up on “dieting” or that you might put on a few pounds.

Once the day is over and you are back on schedule you need to go right back to your typical eating habits, assuming they are already good.

A one day pig-out is like a a one day-fast, it really won’t be a big deal over the long haul, but it has to be a one-day thing, not two, not a week. The day after the festivities, give away all the leftover pies, cakes, potatoes and all the other food you know you shouldn’t eat. Keep the Turkey!

If you’re really worried about gaining a pound or two then go a get a workout in either on your own or at IronBody Fitness on Thanksgiving morning, 9a.

Do this quick 2 min workout 4 or 5 times and you’ll be fine.

  • Squat Thrust with jump
  • Jog in place or shuffle your feet
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Jumping Jacks

Do each exercise for 20econds and rest for 10 in between. Try to keep rest between rounds to a minimum, no more than 30s at most.

Repeat 4 – 5 times, you’ll be toasty!

Happy Thanksgiving!
